Chapel Allerton Area Guide

Chapel Allerton (LS7) is located approximately two miles North-East of the City centre. The centerpiece of the village is the willow tree that sits proudly on the traffic island at the junction of Stainbeck Lane and Harrogate Road – an identifying landmark that’s difficult to miss. Surrounding the willow tree is the main focus of the village where shopping, drinking and eating out are key focal points, it is easy to see why this buzzing metropolis has been described as the ‘Notting Hill of the North’

Over the last five years due to the transformation and development it is easy to see why Chapel Allerton has become a youthful lively place to live, despite an influx of younger professionals, giving rise to its status as one of the ‘trendy’ places in Leeds to reside, it still maintains a real community and friendly feel to it. With it’s numerous selection of bars and restaurants, Hub, Z Bar, Humming Bird Bar, Sukothai and Casa Mia to name a few it’s the ideal venue for a night out.

Surrounded by Gledhow Woods, Chapel Allerton has always had a ‘green’ feel to it, and in addition boasts an elegant park and allotments. The village is also home to a swimming pool in addition to both a tennis and road running club. Chapel Allerton has a great variety of shops.

The area offers a verity of Victorian terraces, large semi detached properties, detached houses and new build apartments.

Regular transport services available on Harrogate Road and Scott Hall Road afford easy access to the city centre and surrounding areas. The Leeds outer Ring Road provides access to the centers of Leeds City Centre and Harrogate.

Chapel Allerton is local to some excellent schools, St Matthews, Chapel Allerton Primary School and Allerton High School.
