Knaresborough Area Guide

Knaresborough is perched above the Nidd gorge in Lower Nidderdale. The town is mentioned in the domesday book and has a Norman Castle which was partially destroyed in 1648. The stone was used to build many other local buildings. Looking from the castle over the river is a stunning view of the viaduct. The town is on the Leeds to York branch line which travels over the viaduct and provides great transport links. Mother Shipton’s Cave is also in the town and is believed to be England’s oldest tourist attraction. Knaresborough offers a broad selection of properties from cosy cottages to detached houses and semi detached houses.
