The pretty market square, overlooked by the Gothic Town Hall comes to life every Friday as well known traders set out their stalls. Yeadon Tarn (also known as Yeadon Dam) is located between the High Street and the airport runway. The Tarn is used for sailing and fishing. Mallard ducks, swans and a sizable population of Canada Geese can be found at the tarn. There is also a BMX bike track adjacent to it, with competitions held in the summer. As well as The Tarn Yeadon also has a large park for families to enjoy. Nunroyd Park has its own small lake and Cricket club. The park is also the pitch for the twice yearly fair that comes to town. Having well respected schools and good commuter routes has made Yeadon a popular location which offers a close nit community feel.
