THINKING OF MARKETING YOUR HOME AFTER CHRISTMAS?

WHY NOT GET IT READY NOW & HAVE IT SPRUCED UP FOR THE HOLIDAYS & READY TO PLACE ON THE MARKET IN THE NEW YEAR

There’s nothing like the approach of the holiday season to make our hearts turn toward home and home improvement projects!

Simply thinking about the holidays ahead can sharpen our vision when it comes to the condition of the house. Suddenly, we notice  all those little things we’ve been ignoring all this time!!

Look around the house. Does your temperature rise when you see stained carpets, smudged switch plates and faded curtains?  With Christmas round the corner, it’s tempting to dive right in to a long list of home improvements.  Don’t!

Firstly write a quick list of everything you would like to change from the front door to the top of the house. …Scribbling quickly, write down every item of maintenance, cleaning, or decorating that comes to your mind. “Remove cobwebs from entryway,” “buy porch bench,” “wash windows–whatever your mind tells you should be done.

Now you may have quite a long list, lets tackle it!

Most areas in the property can be spruced up with a good clean, re-paint and perhaps one little added item to brighten the area up, it could be a new foot mat in the hall, a plant, cushions on the sofa.  The little things are what draw people’s eyes away from any other works that could still be required and make it more homely.  De-clutter and bring any unwanted items to the charity shop…don’t leave them hanging around cluttering up the hall!!
